What Wuhan Coronavirus Says About Us and Our Relationship with Planet Earth

Currently, in China and several places around the world, we have an outbreak of a new Coronavirus which is being called the Wuhan Coronavirus since it originated there. There are indications it came from snakes or perhaps bats and then to humans. All of this isn’t really understood at this point, as this virus is quite new.

There are several cities in China under lockdown or severe restrictions, so this virus appears to be something that we need to pay close attention to. Hopefully, our advanced medical technology and the World Health Organization can find out the exact cause and mitigate the spread of this virus or perhaps find a vaccine. This brings me to the point of this article. Our relationship with his planet of out of balance, and we are starting to feel the effects of this more often than not.

Native cultures such as the American Indians understand the relationship we have with our planet. We are a part of nature and nature a part of us. As we attempt to genetically modify plants to suit our own needs. We run the risk of upsetting the natural balance of the earth. It seems like the right thing to do. We want plants to resist disease. We want more nutritious food. We want better yields…
