Revolution

In the 60s, they took to the streets

For peace and war to beat

Thye left after they had their say

But the revolution never went away

We drank the lies your cheap wine

We realize you all are swine

On a podium, a talking head

Look at us now and where you have lead

Holding signs and constant pain

We will be there come shine or rain

Things are better, look at Wall Street!

Meaningless words to those on a street

Corporate cats holding money bags

Equality to you… Oh, that’s a drag

Might eat your profit, and that won’t do

As the planet dies all around you

The trees, the fires, pandemic across the land

Even God extends his hand

Profits before people is what you see

You just can’t let that money be

Well, we are getting wise

That is why revolutions rise
