Money The Root of All Evil
Money is what some call the root of all evil. I tend to agree on this. We spend our entire lives obsessed with some numbers on a piece of paper or on our computer screen. When we have more numbers we are happy, when we have less we feel depressed. When we have few numbers to our name we can become destitute and living in the street while the machine of money continues to churn and turns a blind eye to those that don’t possess it.
A Hamster Wheel
Each day we go to and from our “work” or sometimes we “work” at home. We do this to increase the numbers in our pocketbook. It’s a sad world we live in when the meaning of life boils down to how many numbers you have to your name. We look at awe and admiration at those that have a lot of numbers to their name. Often we put them on a pedestal and worship them like gods.
“All hail the rich one, bless us with your wisdom!”
It’s so downright pathetic that it defies description. We continue to plunder and destroy our world all in the quest for more numbers to our name. We obsess over the stock market, search for the best rates for our mortgage, and sigh with relief when Friday comes so we can go out and get knockdown drunk so we can forget our weekly work and headaches.
I’m just like everyone else; I write in an attempt to make more money for myself…
