Dear Exercise Gurus Your Exercises Are Not Practical For 50-Year-Olds
My wife and I decided to nake a change a little while ago. As we’re both approaching the age of 50, we know it’s time to start exercising. We should have done this a long time ago, but we never did. As I’ve gone through my 40s, the aches and pains have gotten worse. I know if I don’t start moving now, I’m going to suffer serious problems in the future.
I would like to spend the bulk of my 50s not having to deal with pain issues. This is why I have embarked on an exercise program with my wife. The main problem I face is that some of the exercises that so-called “exercise gurus” tell you you should do are not practical for people in their 50s or near their 50s that are in piss poor shape. In fact, a lot of these exercises could probably cause serious injury.
Squats
Right… You want me to do a squat??? I might come across a list of exercises for beginners. I get the squat exercise. I know that this exercise is very good for developing your leg strength. The problem for a lot of people in their 50s is that they can’t get down to do a squat. Their legs are that screwed up. My legs are in a tremendous amount of pain most of the time. My shins kill me or I have pain in the upper part of my legs. If I was to bend down in that fashion, I would get a lot of knee pain.
