Warning- This article discusses the brutality of war. Do not read if you have a weak stomach. I encourage people to resolve their differences peacefully. This article is meant to educate. It looks at the American Civil War compared to life today.

Today we hear the word Civil War being thrown around more often than ever. I do not think most people today really understand what the word Civil War means. This is a war between civilian populations. It is not something that is civil, in fact. It is living hell. All you have to do is look at pictures of Syria or the Bosnian War to see what Civil War really is. That is the reality of war, as it never goes the way you expected to go.

Most Americans are not prepared for what war would bring. First of all, a large percentage of Americans are too fat to fight in any sort of war. More than one-third of adults in the United States are obese. More than two-thirds of adults in the United States are overweight or obese. All of that extra poundage makes fighting war a lot harder. I do not think many people today are ready to march miles and miles to get to the front. This is what you will have to do if they want to engage in any type of war.
